Uncover your treasures...

The news media has been such a bummer lately, but I just won't let myself be bogged down by it.  We have several dear friends that have been hit economically by the market, the slow down in the building industry in our area and some that have lost jobs. All of them are hopeful and thankful and working towards a brighter future...

It got me thinking (and designing)....
Especially in times like these we need to remember the treasures we have and our personal gifts and uncover them!

Treasures
Since the designs are cast in pewter they are perfect for these economic times... Each charm costs $2.50....so you can feel like you are splurging, but your pocket book won't agree!

There will be a total of 22 words soon...just a few now...
Uncover your treasure...

And the greatest of these is love....

When I was in elementary school...Valentines day was by far my favorite day.  While I loved candy and Halloween...I really loved being able to send special notes to all of my friends.  My mom was such a trooper with the paper scraps, doilies and glitter messes I used to make of our kitchen.

Here are a few suggestions for you gift giving...and don't worry we offer expedited shipping options in our shopping cart to make sure it arrives in time for Valentines day!

For the preteen...

End of the trade show...time for fun....Broadway style!

What fun being in NY and being done with the trade show....
With some friends we went to the TKTS booth in the middle of Time Square to get half price tickets and we scored.  In the Heights...the winner of a Tony last year was at the booth!  IMG_0116 Waiting in line with Michelle and Katy from Allen Designs Clocks.

I have to say the show was one of my favorites for the last few years.  The music and the dancing was really wonderful!

The last minute upgrade from Chevy's....

Ok...one of the hardest things to do at the shows is to not overbook my dinner schedule.  Tonight was one of those REALLY crazy times where I spent about 2 hours texting between 3 women trying to get us all on the same page for where we wanted to go to dinner.  We had FINALLY decided to go to Chevy's....a staple for us at the NY gift...It's close to where we stay, the food is good and it has good margaritas.

But last minute a friend who I hadn't had dinner with in 3 years sent me a text saying her plans had changed. Since we are rarely in the same town...I jumped at the chance. So we met up and went to dinner....we asked around for directions to a restaurant we had been to before.  Instead we found a limo driver that said...Oh no way.... go to Tortilla Flats instead.

So we said sure....climbed into the longest limo in the city of New York and took a ride.

This is Lisa and Jeff, the owners of Femail Creations catalog.

If you aren't already familiar with their catalog...go there now and spend some time shopping through all of the cool artist created goodies they hunt down to grace the pages of their catalog.  This year marks the 10th year I've been in the catalog.

The decor of the place was a fun and quirkly mix of crazy stuff.

Elvis I mean...what's a mexican food restaurant without a picture of Elvis.

The food was wonderful and so were the margaritas.  Jeff really does have a knack at picking the best mararitas...so we left it up to him!

P1010069 After dinner we had a great treat of a game of Bingo.  The hostess called the numbers lightning fast in between seating diners that were late for their reservations...of course announcing that fact to everyone over the microphone.

So while I missed seeing my other friends tonight....
Chevys
While we passed it on the way home....I realized I didn't miss eating at Chevy's....at least this time around.  Tortilla Flats will be on my don't miss list now!

New York International Gift Fair

So it's trade show season again....
I'm in new york.  Showing off all of my newest designs.
P1010063
For those of you that haven't ever been to a trade show.  It's a bit crazy and overwhelming.  There are literally thousands of 10 foot booths of wares.

Luckily in NY I have a wonderful spot under 100 foot tall ceiling of glass.
P1010066 The lighting is fantastic...for jewelry that is perfect!

P1010069 One of our new collections.  Treasured Shapes...pewter designs.  Love, Peace, Happiness and Success....they are going to be on our website soon.  They are pewter and are available on stainless steel ball chain or a keyring.  I just love them!  They are the run away best seller at the show this time...well so far it's just day one.

One GREAT thing about coming to trade shows is meeting so many fabulous women in business.  Tonight I had dinner with two of my favorites.
IMG_0105 Colleen Cooper...and...
IMG_0108 Jo Dee Foster (the artist not the actress)  You can't see it from these pics...but the make and sell FABULOUS T-shirts.  Check out their website Cutting-Up.

Their T shirts are Kyra's new favorite clothes... especially the freedom loving rocker chick shirt.
