Ok...one of the hardest things to do at the shows is to not overbook my dinner schedule. Tonight was one of those REALLY crazy times where I spent about 2 hours texting between 3 women trying to get us all on the same page for where we wanted to go to dinner. We had FINALLY decided to go to Chevy's....a staple for us at the NY gift...It's close to where we stay, the food is good and it has good margaritas.
But last minute a friend who I hadn't had dinner with in 3 years sent me a text saying her plans had changed. Since we are rarely in the same town...I jumped at the chance. So we met up and went to dinner....we asked around for directions to a restaurant we had been to before. Instead we found a limo driver that said...Oh no way.... go to Tortilla Flats instead.
So we said sure....climbed into the longest limo in the city of New York and took a ride.
This is Lisa and Jeff, the owners of Femail Creations catalog.
If you aren't already familiar with their catalog...go there now and spend some time shopping through all of the cool artist created goodies they hunt down to grace the pages of their catalog. This year marks the 10th year I've been in the catalog.
Me and Lisa....in the limo.
The decor of the place was a fun and quirkly mix of crazy stuff.
I mean...what's a mexican food restaurant without a picture of Elvis.
The food was wonderful and so were the margaritas. Jeff really does have a knack at picking the best mararitas...so we left it up to him!
After dinner we had a great treat of a game of Bingo. The hostess called the numbers lightning fast in between seating diners that were late for their reservations...of course announcing that fact to everyone over the microphone.
So while I missed seeing my other friends tonight....
While we passed it on the way home....I realized I didn't miss eating at Chevy's....at least this time around. Tortilla Flats will be on my don't miss list now!
